KEN GORDON, PFP, CDFA, CFDS

Senior Wealth Advisor

Ken has over 37 years of experience in the field and is one of the top Wealth Advisors in Canada. He was recognized as one of Canada’s Top Wealth Advisors in the November issue of the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business magazine. He is well known for his expertise in working with affluent individuals and his unparalleled commitment to delivering integrated, sophisticated wealth management strategies to ensure growth and preservation of capital. Ken is also recognized as one of the foremost authorities on Separately Managed Accounts/Individually Managed Accounts, through his self-written books, Winning with Integrity, A Powerful Guide to Successful Investing with Individually Managed Accounts. His high levels of energy, passion, determination, professionalism, and global perspective have clearly benefited his select group of clients.

An accomplished and sought-after public speaker, Ken has addressed both industry and non-industry groups across Canada on topics relating to investing, motivation, divorce, and successful business practices. As the author of five books; Power Marketing, Tomorrow Never Lies, Winning with Integrity, The Game Plan, and most notably, Lost in the System. Ken is frequently quoted and seen on local media for his insight and strategic thinking.

Ken has achieved his Chartered Financial Divorce Specialist (CDFS) designation in Canada and his Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) in the U.S.  Having gone through his own challenges with divorce, he was able to take an incredibly difficult and stressful time in his life, and turn it into a learning experience, one that he can use to help other people in similar situations. CODY GORDON, BBA, CIM, CFA

Portfolio Manager, Wealth Advisor

Cody began his wealth management career in 2014 by joining the Verus Financial team. Having obtained his Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) from the Beedie School of Business with a concentration in finance, he continued his education further by becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®). This designation is considered the pinnacle of knowledge and expertise for the investment industry. He also obtained his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designation. 

 

At Verus Financial, Cody is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a disciplined wealth management approach. With an extreme dedication to process, Cody ensures that clients personal and financial goals are achieved through diligent investment management, financial planning, estate planning, insurance, and banking solutions. Overall, Cody’s main objective is to provide a complete wealth management offering that a client truly comprehends. Through client education, Cody helps families and individuals understand the unnecessarily complicated realm of finance.

 

In 2020, Cody won the National Bank Financial Excellence Award for Rising Star/Young Advisor of the Year in Canada. This award is given to advisors with less than 7 years’ experience with a proven commitment to wealth management.

Outside of work, Cody is an active participant in many charitable organizations and events such as the BC Ride to Conquer Cancer and the Run for the Cure. Cody is also a member of the Vancouver CFA Society.

CHASE GORDON

Associate Wealth Advisor

Chase started his career in wealth management in 2016 when he joined the Verus Financial Team. He began as an Associate, where he was responsible for administrative operations, which included servicing and managing client relationships on a daily basis. Eager, to advance his career, Chase completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) in 2019. Soon after, Chase became a licensed Wealth Associate and took on additional responsibility. He continued to enhance his education and build his credibility by obtaining a Certificate in Advanced Financial Advice, which allows him to provide comprehensive advice tailored to clients with varying needs, goals and objectives throughout their lifecycle. Chase is now an Associate Wealth Advisor and works closely with Ken and Cody to build personalized investment portfolios for their high-net-worth client base.

 

In the coming years, Chase will pursue the Chartered Investment Managers (CIM) and Chartered Financial Planning (CFP) designations.

 

Chase graduated in Business Management and studied International Business abroad at Tokiwa University in Japan. Chase’s disciplined manner was instilled by having competed at a high level in Kickboxing at a young age. While continuing to train for fun, he enjoys playing golf and tennis and is very involved in supporting local community events.

CARMEN NG

Wealth Associate

Carmen has been with Verus Financial since 2007. She graduated from Emily Carr University where she received a Bachelor of Design degree majoring in Communication Design and brings several years of experience as a Graphic Designer to the team. Carmen oversees marketing and also works closely with Chase and Montana to provide administrative support to the team by maintaining a smooth administrative process and providing accurate and efficient client service. 

Carmen was born and raised in Vancouver and enjoys camping, playing tennis and skiing. She is also a very talented baker and spoils the team with baked goods and elaborate special occasion cakes.

Montana Gordon

Administrative Associate

Montana has been with the Verus Financial team since 2020. While completing her bachelor’s degree in Business Management at the University of British Columbia-Okanagan, Montana spent each summer working for Verus Financial. In 2020, after completing her degree, Montana joined the Verus team as a full-time associate. Involved in the administrative process of Verus, Montana provides support to the team by handling day-to-day actions and responsibilities of client administrative needs.

 

Montana is currently in the process of obtaining her Canadian Securities Course (CSC) to become a licensed Investment Associate. Outside of the office, Montana is an avid tennis player.
