Purpose

The Verus Dividend Growth Portfolio has been designed by for private clients to invest in mostly large-cap, publicly traded Canadian dividend-paying common stocks and REIT’s.

Investment Objectives

1. Provide investors with consistent, long-term positive returns while maintaining a reasonable level of risk by investing in a diversified portfolio of high-quality, chiefly large capitalization Canadian dividend-paying equities and REIT’s, selected from our Verus Universe of companies.

2. Protect capital during market downturns by increasing cash up to a maximum level of 30% of the value of the Portfolio, by investing in a fixed income securities up to 30% of the value of the Portfolio, and by owning more defensive equities with higher cash yields.

3. Maintain the cash yield of the portfolio in the 2.5% – 5% range.
